Carriage Services Expands Houston Market With Acquisition Of Schmidt Funeral Home

HOUSTON, Sept. 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Carriage Services, Inc. (NYSE: CSV) announced today that it has acquired Schmidt Funeral Home in Katy, Texas. Established in 1945, Schmidt Funeral Home has been serving the families of Katy for over 60 years. The owner, Hank Schmidt Jr., will remain involved in the business as a consultant, while long time employee Cyndi Hoots has been named the business's Managing Partner. Hank's son, Trey Schmidt, will remain with the business along with long time employee Buddy Mullens. The acquisition of Schmidt Funeral Home represents Carriage's first acquisition in Harris County.
