ACTIVE Network Breathes New Life Into Plancast™

ACTIVE Network, Inc. (NYSE: ACTV), the leader in cloud-based activity and participant management™ solutions, has added enhanced features to Plancast, its social event sharing site which allows users to discover, plan, promote and celebrate events of interest. First introduced as a consumer-oriented site which allowed users to find primarily tech events in the Bay Area, the newly-redesigned Plancast community showcases events of varied types and provides smart browser-based tools for both consumers and event organizers alike.

Convenient and intuitive tools on Plancast allow users to:

Plan and promote events – organizers and individuals can create event plans easily and using plug-ins for Chrome, Firefox and Bookmarklet, they can quickly add plans from event detail pages on other sites. Users can track events if they aren’t ready to commit to attending them just yet. For a small fee, events can also be promoted to nationwide third-party event calendars to raise visibility and help drive attendance.

Manage and share social calendars – Plancast offers personalized scheduling for users to discover and manage events they are interested in as well as synch them with Outlook, iCal and other personal calendars

Post multimedia content prior to or post-event – users can for the first time celebrate and memorialize events they’ve attended through user-generated content such as videos, photos and slides which can also be easily shared with friends on Twitter, Facebook and Google+. This can both improve the sharing frequency and extend the lifespan of event-related content.

Leverage mobile features – the official Plancast iPhone app is free and helps users pinpoint events worth investigating by location and interests without the need to sign-in. Users can find friends with similar interests, get real-time updates, and share their experiences within the easy-to-use interface.
