NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Research in Motion (Nasdaq:RIMM) hit a new 52-week low Monday as it is currently trading at $6.31, below its previous 52-week low of $6.33 with 1.7 million shares traded as of 9:40 a.m. ET. Average volume has been 20.4 million shares over the past 30 days.

Research in Motion has a market cap of $3.56 billion and is part of the technology sector and telecommunications industry. Shares are down 52.4% year to date as of the close of trading on Friday.
