DETROIT, Sept. 24, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --
What: Project: Welcome Home, Compuware's initiative to put a deserving family into a new home in time for the holidays, has reached a major milestone with the selection of the deserving family. On September 25 at 1:00 p.m., the identity of the family will be announced to the public at a press conference in Cadillac Square. Additional program developments, including a new partner that will be instrumental in making the house a home and other exciting announcements will be made at that time.
The press conference takes place in the midst of a wall build event for Compuware employees where exterior and interior walls will be constructed for use in a Habitat for Humanity home. The event is a celebration of Project: Welcome Home and includes refreshments, activities and entertainment -- including music from 93.9 The River and a live performance from the Compuware band -- for Compuware volunteers and employees supporting the program.Who: The recipient family, Compuware CEO Bob Paul, Habitat for Humanity Detroit Executive Director Vincent Tilford and Project Welcome Home's newest program partner will be on-stage for the press conference. Why: Compuware is committed to making technology that makes a difference and to the well-being of the communities in which we operate. In 2011, as part of Compuware's Thanksgiving Day Parade program, the company collected wishes for the city of Detroit and one theme rang out: the wish for a place to call home. This year, Compuware is delivering on that wish for one deserving family that exemplifies the attributes that our region was built on and which will fuel our continued resurgence: hard work, family ties, perseverance and the drive to build a brighter future. Who Should Attend: Journalists interested in covering the event are invited to attend the press conference as well as the wall build event. Photo opportunities of Compuware volunteers assembling walls, formal remarks from Compuware, Habitat executives and the recipient family as well as follow up interview opportunities will be available.
