The Tamarac User Conference provided advisors with an outstanding opportunity to learn about the latest trends, technologies and best practices that may influence the future growth of their businesses. The conference has experienced steady year-over-year growth with this year's more than 300 attendees representing the largest turnout to date.
Among the popular sessions of the conference was a panel on the final morning, which featured top executives from some of the largest custodians. The panel consisting of Shannon Porro, VP Technology and Operations Consulting, Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services; Patrick Hennessey, Senior Consultant Technology & Business Operations, Schwab Advisor Services; Christopher Valleley, Director Technology Solutions, TD Ameritrade Institutional and Julie Harrington, Director Business Development and Relationship Management, Pershing Advisor Solutions addressed a number of the most pressing topics affecting RIAs. The executives discussed custodial integration, investments in technology, regulation and other areas aimed help registered investment advisors (RIAs) grow their practices, as well as trends in investing--including products such as separately managed accounts (SMAs), unified managed accounts (UMAs) and fixed-income vehicles.
