Belo Names Linda Danna To Lead WHAS-TV

DALLAS, Sept. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Television company Belo Corp. (NYSE:  BLC) announced today that Linda Danna has been named president and general manager of WHAS-TV, Belo's ABC-affiliated station in Louisville, Kentucky.  She will begin her new role on October 15, 2012.  Danna most recently served as vice president and general manager of KGPE-TV in Fresno, California.

Danna most recently served as vice president and general manager of KGPE-TV, a CBS-affiliated station in Fresno, California, from September 2008 to the present.  Prior to that, she was a director of sales and interim general manager at WOAI-TV in San Antonio, Texas, and senior vice president and general manager at WWJ-TV and WKBD-TV in Southfield, Michigan.  She also served as senior vice president and general manager of WUPA-TV in Atlanta, Georgia and general sales manager of KTXH-TV in Houston, Texas.  Danna started her career in sales, holding the position of general manager for Seltel, Inc., a national television representation firm, and as local sales manager at KTXA-TV in Arlington, Texas.  Early in her career, she served as an account executive of KHOU-TV, Belo's CBS-affiliated station in Houston, Texas, and as an account executive at KFDM-TV, Belo's former CBS-affiliated station in Beaumont, Texas.  Danna holds a Bachelor of Science with a major in Radio Television and Film and minors in Political Science and Spanish from The University of Texas at Austin.
