Bank of America today announced that Deon Pitsor has been named Iowa state president.
As state president, Pitsor will help the company deliver a wide range of global financial services to more individuals and businesses locally as well as deepen relationships with existing customers. He will also oversee corporate social responsibility activities including philanthropic giving, community development lending and investing, environmental initiatives, diversity efforts, arts and culture projects, and employee volunteerism.

In addition to his responsibilities as state president, Pitsor serves as a client manager serving business banking clients across Iowa. Business banking provides strategic, integrated financial advice and solutions to small- and mid-sized businesses with $5 million to $50 million in annual revenues.A native Iowan, Pitsor joined Bank of America in 1986 and held a number of leadership positions in commercial and private banking throughout his career. Additionally, he served as Des Moines market president from 2006 to 2008. A University of Iowa alumnus, he also has an MBA from University of Missouri, Kansas City. Pitsor resides in Johnston with his wife and two children and is active in the community, having served a two-year term as president and six-year term on the board of directors for Children & Families of Iowa Foundation as well as a board position with Iowa Jobs for America Graduates (IJAG). Bank of America continues to actively lend, invest and give in Iowa. In 2011, the bank provided more than $264,000 in statewide philanthropic giving which helped nonprofit community organizations develop and grow, including those that provide basic human services such as hunger relief, housing assistance and access to healthcare. During the first six months of this year, Bank of America employees in Iowa volunteered more than 524 hours to local nonprofits as well as provided vital support to the United Way campaign.
