L.B. Foster Rail Products Facility Receives IndustryWeek 2012 Best Plant Recognition

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Pittsburgh, PA-based L.B. Foster Company (NASDAQ: FSTR) announced that its CXT ® Concrete Ties facility in Spokane, WA has been selected as a finalist in IndustryWeek magazine's annual 2012 Best Plants Award for Excellence in Manufacturing competition. The publication reported online that North American finalists for this important recognition included the Washington State rail products facility.

The IndustryWeek announcement noted a dedication to continuous improvement and customer service in the high capacity concrete tie facility. "This is the second year in a row that IndustryWeek has recognized an L.B. Foster plant for our company's ongoing commitment to safety, operational excellence and employee wellness. Our Spokane team deserves its place on this prestigious list of North America's best managed manufacturing facilities," said Steve Burgess, L.B. Foster Director of Continuous Improvement.

The Spokane, WA plant employs the rail industry's most advanced concrete tie manufacturing technology and produces a full line of CXT branded concrete ties. The ISO 9001:2008 Certified facility is strategically located to supply projects throughout North America with CXT ® concrete ties for all rail applications.

Foster's Spokane, WA facility is currently being evaluated for this honor. The company's Pueblo, CO rail products manufacturing plant received the 2011 IndustryWeek Best Plants Award.
