Inverto Delivers Latest Generation LNB Using Entropic Communications' Leading Channel Stacking Switch Technology

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, Sept. 8, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- IBC2012, Entropic Meeting Suite G106/107 -- Entropic Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:ENTR), a world leader in semiconductor solutions for the connected home, announced today Inverto Digital Labs, a leader in broadcast reception and streaming products and a major player in the Low Noise Block (LNB) converters is deploying Entropic's third-generation Channel Stacking Switch (CSS) silicon, the EN5288, in Inverto's latest LNB solution for the Free-to-Air (FTA) and Pay-TV operator markets. The first product to market with Entropic's EN5288, the Inverto LNB allows consumers to upgrade and extend existing satellite installations, for example, adding a new receiver in a different room or replacing a standard receiver with a dual-tuner Personal Video Recorder (PVR), without the need to run additional in-home cabling.

Recognized for its Unicable™ LNB product line, Inverto uses the Entropic technology to deliver simultaneous streams of satellite broadcast, including thousands of video- and audio programs, into consumers' homes over a single cable distribution. Compliant to the industry standard CENELEC prEN50494, the LNB facilitates the delivery of broadcast programming to a maximum of four set-top boxes (STBs) over a single coaxial cable, and eliminates the numerous coaxial cables that were previously required to connect satellite PVRs and other high-end STBs to the satellite dish.
