Google Stock Hits New 52-Week High (GOOG)

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Google (Nasdaq:GOOG) hit a new 52-week high Thursday as it is currently trading at $690.23, above its previous 52-week high of $688.99 with 542,380 shares traded as of 10 a.m. ET. Average volume has been 2.2 million shares over the past 30 days.

Google has a market cap of $178.41 billion and is part of the technology sector and internet industry. Shares are up 5.4% year to date as of the close of trading on Wednesday.

Google Inc., a technology company, maintains an index of Web sites and other online content for users, advertisers, and Google network members and other content providers. The company has a P/E ratio of 26.4, above the average internet industry P/E ratio of 20.2 and above the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7.
