About Gym Class Heroes
Alternative/hip-hop group Gym Class Heroes first catapulted to international stardom in 2007 with their #1 hit "Cupid's Chokehold/Breakfast In America," which set the record for holding the top spot on the Top 40 radio charts for the most consecutive weeks by a band and helped earn them the "Best New Artist" award at the MTV Video Awards that same year. As a solo artist, Gym Class Heroes frontman
Travie McCoy was responsible for one of the biggest songs of 2010 with his smash single "Billionaire (featuring
Bruno Mars)." Last year, Gym Class Heroes scored their second #1 hit with "Stereo Hearts (featuring
Adam Levine)," the lead single from their fourth Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen release, The Papercut Chronicles II. The album also spawned the Top 5 smash "Ass Back Home (featuring Neon Hitch)" and their current single "The Fighter (featuring
Ryan Tedder)" whose companion music video features Olympic gymnast
John Orozco and has been featured throughout the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Collectively, Travie and Gym Class Heroes have sold over 2 million albums worldwide and over 10 million digital singles.
About Allstar Weekend
When best friends
Zach Porter (vocals) and
Cameron Quiseng (bass) joined forces with their rival high school's drummer
Michael Martinez and formed Allstar Weekend, they never imagined that dreaming about making records and touring the world would soon become a reality. After recording their first demo for "Dance Forever" in a friend's bedroom, the band's raw talent quickly caught the attention of Richard &
Stefanie Reines, siblings and co-owners of Drive-Thru Records, who signed the group on to their management roster. Originally playing local shows around their hometown of
Poway, Calif., the band's first tour centered around distributing flyers at pop shows across the country and playing acoustic impromptu performances in parking lots. Their catchy songs, funny personalities, and relentless DIY promotion paid off when a flyer was placed in the hands of a Disney casting agent, which resulted in the band being added to the pilot season of Radio Disney's "Next Big Thing." Although the band did not win the competition, Hollywood Records signed them and launched a whirlwind press tour around their debut CD "Suddenly Yours," with appearances on Good Morning America, Lopez Tonight and The Rachael Ray Show. Allstar Weekend sold over 1 million singles with no radio airplay, and continue to headline tours across
the United States,
Canada, and the UK. After parting ways with Hollywood Records, "Life As We Know It," the band's first self-released single is currently in rotation on Sirius XM Hits1 and their rabid, dedicated fan base just keeps growing. Their new single "The Last Time" impacts at Top 40 Radio in October. Allstar Weekend is now funding and recording their first fully-independent album through Kickstarter. The album is expected to be released in
