Huron Consulting Group (NASDAQ: HURN), a leading provider of business consulting services, today announced that the Company’s Huron Healthcare practice has been named one of Modern Healthcare’s 2012 Largest Healthcare Management Consulting Firms. Huron Healthcare ranked No. 3 for the third year in a row.

“Our continued success and growth is a testament to our professionals’ deep industry expertise and the effectiveness of our solutions,” said Gordon Mountford, executive vice president, Huron Healthcare. “We look forward to continuing to expand our solutions to empower our clients to meet the challenges and capitalize on the opportunities presented in this very dynamic market.”

Modern Healthcare’s 2012 list included 80 consulting firms, which were ranked according to 2011 provider revenue. In 2011, Huron had total provider revenue of $314 million. The Company has been ranked in the top five of Modern Healthcare’s Largest Healthcare Management Consulting Firms for the past five years.

“Huron Healthcare has been among the top three firms on the Modern Healthcare ranking for several years. This reflects the ongoing expansion of our collaborative partnerships with our clients. We continue to help hospitals and health systems navigate their many challenges – in particular, improving the quality of care, as well as capturing margin improvement opportunities with clinical transformation,” said Dr. Andrew Ziskind, managing director and Clinical solutions leader, Huron Healthcare. “Our clinical solutions are directly in line with our clients’ needs for surviving and thriving in a post-reform environment.”

“Achieving a place on the list is a testament to the work that our people do every day for clients across the country,” said Jim Gallas, managing director and Performance solutions leader, Huron Healthcare. “We’re proud to have saved our clients more than $1 billion in the past five years by implementing our proven financial and operational performance improvement solutions so they can meet their missions and better serve their patients and their communities.”

Huron Healthcare is part of the Company’s Health and Education Consulting segment, which represented 67 percent of Huron’s total revenues in 2011. Huron Healthcare is a premier provider of clinical and performance improvement solutions for hospitals and health systems, and has worked with more than 350 hospitals and academic medical centers.

Earlier this year, Huron Healthcare released Leading Through Transformation: Top Healthcare CEOs’ Perspectives on the Future of Healthcare, Insights from the Huron Healthcare CEO Forum. The report shares insights from CEOs, and from executives outside the healthcare industry, who participated in the second annual Huron Healthcare CEO Forum.
