NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Medivation (Nasdaq:MDVN) hit a new 52-week high Friday as it is currently trading at $104.86, above its previous 52-week high of $103.89 with 1.1 million shares traded as of 4 p.m. ET. Average volume has been 579,800 shares over the past 30 days.

Medivation has a market cap of $3.61 billion and is part of the health care sector and drugs industry. Shares are up 112.6% year to date as of the close of trading on Thursday.

Medivation, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company, focuses on developing novel small molecule drugs for the treatment of serious diseases in the United States and Europe.
