Recalls This Week: Coffee Makers, Bikes, Paint

A line of Mr. Coffee machines that tend to get too steamy are among a long list of recalled consumer products this week. Others include a range of bicycles and components including handlebars and brakes that pose a safety risk to riders, along with paint products, baby bathers, and battery packs.
Here's a more detailed look at this week's recalled products:
COFFEE MAKERS
DETAILS: Mr. Coffee single cup brewing systems with the following model numbers: BVMC-KG1, BVMC-KG1A-001, BVMC-KG1-WM-001, BVMC-KG1-001, BVMC-KG1-BEA, BVMC-KG1R-001, BVMC-KG1-044, BVMC-KG1BP-PAL, BVMC-KG1R-006, BVMC-KG1A, BVMC-KG1-WM, and BVMC-KG1W-001. The model numbers are on the bottom of the brewers, which were sold from September 2010 through August 2012. WHY: A buildup of steam in the water reservoir can force the brewing chamber open and expel hot coffee grounds and water, posing a burn hazard. INCIDENTS: 164 reports of the brewing chamber opening because of steam pressure, including 59 reports of burn injuries. The brakes are used on adult road racing bicycles and have a white "ee" logo on the front of the brakes and a five-digit serial number with either "80xxx" or "09xxx" engraved on either the front or the back of the strut portion of the brake. WHY: The bridge of the brakes can crack, posing the chance of a fall. INCIDENTS: Two reports of brakes cracking, one of which resulted in scrapes and bruises. HOW MANY: About 400.
