Advance Auto Parts Names Kurt Schumacher Senior Vice President, National Field Operations

Advance Auto Parts (NYSE: AAP), a leading retailer of automotive aftermarket parts, accessories, batteries, and maintenance items, announced the promotion of Kurt Schumacher to Senior Vice President, National Field Operations. Mr. Schumacher’s responsibilities include leading the operations of the Company’s nearly 3,500 Advance Auto Parts stores and asset protection. Mr. Schumacher will report to Darren Jackson, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Kurt is a 37-year veteran in the aftermarket industry and has been a consistent leader for Advance over the past 11 years as an Area Senior Vice President in our Southeastern markets,” said Darren Jackson. “Kurt has a passion for customer service and team development that will inspire our team and demonstrate to our customers that Service is our best part.”

Mr. Schumacher joined Advance in 1998 through Advance’s acquisition of Western Auto and over the past 11 years served as an Area Senior Vice President for the Company. Prior to joining Advance, Mr. Schumacher held various roles with Murray’s Discount Auto Stores, Wheels Discount Auto and Western Auto/Parts America. Among his accomplishments with Advance Auto Parts, Mr. Schumacher has led consistent results in his area and led the successful integration of the Discount Auto Parts stores following Advance’s acquisition of the company in 2001.
