Home Depot Stock Hits New 52-Week High (HD)

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Home Depot (NYSE:HD) hit a new 52-week high Tuesday as it is currently trading at $54.37, above its previous 52-week high of $54.28 with 5.3 million shares traded as of 10:15 a.m. ET. Average volume has been 11.7 million shares over the past 30 days.

Home Depot has a market cap of $80.8 billion and is part of the services sector and retail industry. Shares are up 26.2% year to date as of the close of trading on Monday.

The Home Depot, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, operates as a home improvement retailer. The company's stores sell building materials, and home improvement and lawn and garden products to do-it-yourself, do-it-for-me (at D-I-F-M), and professional customers. The company has a P/E ratio of 20, equal to the average retail industry P/E ratio and above the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7.
