A graduate of Virginia Tech, McDonough joined Cardinal Bank as a member of its Retail Management Trainee Program in 2006. He was promoted through the ranks of the Retail Management team, last serving as the Branch Manager of the Reston Banking Office prior to moving to the Lending Team in 2008. After spending 18 months as a Credit Analyst, McDonough was promoted to Real Estate Lender in January of 2010. He currently serves on the committee for the Cardinal Bank Charity Classic, Cardinal’s premier fundraising event. This August, McDonough will receive his Certificate from the Virginia Bankers Association School of Bank Management.

Bettius also joined Cardinal as a Management Trainee, after her graduation from Rollins College in 2007. She took a position on the Real Estate Lending Team in 2008, and became a Real Estate Lending Officer in January, 2011. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Real Estate Development and Finance from George Mason University, and is active in the Northern Virginia Chapter of the NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association.

“We pride ourselves on recognizing and developing talented employees at Cardinal, and both Alex and Jason have worked extremely hard as they have progressed along their career paths,” said Dennis Griffith, Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer. “It is very rewarding to mentor our next generation of top-notch lenders.”
