Yahoo (YHOO) pushed the Internet industry lower today making it today's featured Internet laggard. The industry as a whole closed the day down 0.5%. By the end of trading, Yahoo fell 86 cents (-5.4%) to $15.15 on heavy volume. Throughout the day, 61.9 million shares of Yahoo exchanged hands as compared to its average daily volume of 15.6 million shares. The stock ranged in price between $15.01-$15.35 after having opened the day at $15.25 as compared to the previous trading day's close of $16.01. Other companies within the Internet industry that declined today were: Crexendo (EXE), down 9.9%, Innodata (INOD), down 7.8%, LiveDeal (LIVE), down 7.7%, and Local Corporation (LOCM), down 5.7%.

Yahoo! Inc., together with its subsidiaries, operates as a digital media company that delivers personalized digital content and experiences through various devices worldwide. It offers online properties and services to users; and a range of marketing services to businesses. Yahoo has a market cap of $19.77 billion and is part of the technology sector. The company has a P/E ratio of 16.7, below the average internet industry P/E ratio of 18.4 and below the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7. Shares are up 0.2% year to date as of the close of trading on Thursday. Currently there are seven analysts that rate Yahoo a buy, one analyst rates it a sell, and 17 rate it a hold.
