Community Health Systems, Inc. Announces Offering Of $1.25 Billion Of Senior Secured Notes Due 2018

Community Health Systems, Inc. (the “Company”) (NYSE: CYH) today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, CHS/Community Health Systems, Inc. (the “Issuer”), intends to offer $1.25 billion aggregate principal amount of Senior Secured Notes due 2018, subject to market and other conditions. The offering will be made by means of an underwritten public offering pursuant to an automatic shelf registration statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The Company intends to use the proceeds of the offering to prepay a portion of certain term loans currently outstanding under its senior credit facilities and to pay related fees and expenses.
