Cowen Group, Inc. (“Cowen”) (NASDAQ: COWN) today announced that John Blackledge has joined the firm’s Research department as a Director and Senior Research Analyst to cover stocks in the Internet & New Media sector. Based in New York, Mr. Blackledge will work in close conjunction with Internet research analyst Kevin Kopelman and will report to Robert Fagin, Cowen’s Director of Research.

Mr. Blackledge most recently served as a Vice President in the Internet Equity research group at Credit Suisse. Prior to Credit Suisse, Mr. Blackledge was a Vice President at JPMorgan, where he focused on the Entertainment, Cable/DBS, and Radio Broadcasting sectors before assuming research coverage of Radio, TV, and Outdoor stocks. Earlier in his career, he held positions at Amro/ING Barings, CIBC Oppenheimer, and Arthur Andersen. Mr. Blackledge received a B.S. in Accounting from Georgetown University.
