NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Hewlett-Packard (NYSE:HPQ) hit a new 52-week low Thursday as it is currently trading at $17.55, below its previous 52-week low of $17.61 with 16 million shares traded as of 11:55 a.m. ET. Average volume has been 18.9 million shares over the past 30 days.

Hewlett-Packard has a market cap of $35.97 billion and is part of the technology sector and computer hardware industry. Shares are down 29.2% year to date as of the close of trading on Wednesday.

Hewlett-Packard Company and its subsidiaries provide products, technologies, software, solutions, and services to individual consumers and small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), as well as to the government, health, and education sectors worldwide. The company has a P/E ratio of seven, equal to the average computer hardware industry P/E ratio and below the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7.
