OpenTable Diner Reviews Reveal Top 100 Scenic View Restaurants

SAN FRANCISCO, July 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Just in time for summer travel and staycations, OpenTable (NASDAQ: OPEN), a leading provider of free, real-time online restaurant reservations for diners and reservation and guest management solutions for restaurants, is pleased to announce the 2012 Diners' Choice Award winners for the Top 100 Scenic View Restaurants in the United States.  These awards reflect the combined opinions of more than 5 million reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners for more than 15,000 restaurants in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

The winners span 29 states with California handily outpacing the pack with 37 honorees. Washington came in a distant second with eight winning restaurants, followed by five winners in New York and Illinois. Arizona, Florida, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, and Texas count three winning restaurants each, while Alaska, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Mexico, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin have two each. Other states represented include Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, and Utah. The Chart House, renowned for selecting some of the nation's most stunning sites for their restaurants, earned 10 of the 100 spots on the list.

The Diners' Choice Awards for the Top 100 Scenic View Restaurants is generated from more than 5 million reviews collected from verified OpenTable diners between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012.  All restaurants with a minimum number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration. Restaurants were then scored and sorted according to the percentage of qualifying reviews for which "scenic view" was selected as a special feature.
