By the end of trading, Yahoo rose 19 cents (1.2%) to $15.92 on average volume. Throughout the day, 16.6 million shares of Yahoo exchanged hands as compared to its average daily volume of 15.8 million shares. The stock ranged in a price between $15.68-$15.94 after having opened the day at $15.75 as compared to the previous trading day's close of $15.72. Other companies within the Internet industry that increased today were: Selectica (SLTC), up 9.4%, ChinaCache International Holdings (CCIH), up 9.3%, TheStreet (TST), up 5.5%, and Zynga Inc Class A (ZNGA), up 5.4%.

Yahoo! Inc., together with its subsidiaries, operates as a digital media company that delivers personalized digital content and experiences through various devices worldwide. It offers online properties and services to users; and a range of marketing services to businesses. Yahoo has a market cap of $19.2 billion and is part of the technology sector. The company has a P/E ratio of 16.2, below the average internet industry P/E ratio of 17.8 and below the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7. Shares are down 2.5% year to date as of the close of trading on Thursday. Currently there are seven analysts that rate Yahoo a buy, one analyst rates it a sell, and 18 rate it a hold.

The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its solid stock price performance, revenue growth, reasonable valuation levels, good cash flow from operations and growth in earnings per share.
