Team USA Uniforms Made ... in China

The Team USA uniforms for this summer's London Olympics are quite patriotic, with one tiny exception: They were made in China. The red, white, and blue uniforms, designed by Ralph Lauren (RL ), will be worn by US athletes at the opening ceremony.

ABC News was shocked to discover "Made in China" proclaimed on the items' labels, and discussed the issue with another US designer, Nanette Lepore.

Considering the uniforms cost quite a bit -- think $498 for the women's skirt and $795 for the men's blazer -- Lepore said it's "absolutely" possible the clothes could have been made right here in the USA more cheaply.

The US Olympic Committee gave ABC News a non-answer when asked why the uniforms weren't made in America: "The US Olympic team is privately funded and we're grateful for the support of our sponsors. We're proud of our partnership with Ralph Lauren, an iconic American company."
