Hawaii’s BK, KFC Employees Receive New Homeownership Benefit

Kazi Foods of Hawaii, franchisee of the majority of the BURGER KING ^® and KFC Hawaii restaurants in Hawaii, today announced a partnership with HomeStreet Bank, one of the oldest community banks headquartered in Washington and a subsidiary of HomeStreet, Inc. (NASDAQ:HMST), and the Hawai’i HomeOwnership Center, to offer the Hometown Home Loan Program to its employees.

HomeStreet Bank’s Hometown Home Loan Program is an employer-assisted housing program that companies can adopt to help recruit and retain employees as well as increase loyalty among their workforces.

The program offers an array of homeownership benefits. These include significant savings on home loan financing, access to down payment assistance and free homeownership education. Through the program, the average person can save between $1,300 and $1,700 in closing costs and fees, depending on the loan amount.

HomeStreet Bank also partners with select local realtors who contribute a portion of their commission towards the buyer’s closing costs and assist with homeownership education.

Kazi Foods of Hawaii employs more than 1,100 workers at 24 BURGER KING ^® and 27 KFC Hawaii restaurants on Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island.

Free Homeownership Education

The Hawai’i HomeOwnership Center will participate by hosting free educational seminars for Kazi Foods employees on a variety of homeownership and financial wellness topics. Key topics include budgeting and savings goals for the future home owner, the mortgage application process, finding the right loan option, and understanding credit. Seminars are offered at the Hawai’i HomeOwnership Center and webinars will be offered to employees on the neighbor islands.
