Cabot Corporation (NYSE: CBT) today announced that it priced a public offering of $250 million of 2.55% senior unsecured notes due 2018 and $350 million of 3.70% senior unsecured notes due 2022. The 2018 Notes are being sold to the public at 99.872%, and the 2022 Notes are being sold to the public at 99.892%. Cabot will pay interest on the notes semi-annually on January 15 and July 15 of each year, beginning January 15, 2013. The sale of the notes is expected to close on July 12, 2012, subject to customary closing conditions. Cabot intends to use the net proceeds of the offering to pay a portion of the consideration for the pending acquisition of Norit N.V., the global leader in activated carbon.
