(NYSE: BKE) announced today that comparable store net sales, for stores open at least one year, for the five-week period ended June 30, 2012 decreased 2.5 percent from comparable store net sales for the five-week period ended July 2, 2011. Net sales for the five-week fiscal month ended June 30, 2012 decreased 0.3 percent to $79.4 million from net sales of $79.6 million for the prior year five-week fiscal month ended July 2, 2011.
Comparable store net sales year-to-date for the 22-week period ended June 30, 2012 increased 4.2 percent from comparable store net sales for the 22-week period ended July 2, 2011. Net sales for the 22-week fiscal period ended June 30, 2012 increased 6.5 percent to $413.0 million from net sales of $387.8 million for the prior year 22-week fiscal period ended July 2, 2011.
