IHG [(LON:IHG) (NYSE:IHG) (ADRs)], one of the most experienced hotel companies in Latin America, today announced the opening of the Holiday Inn Express Maceio Ponta Verde in Brazil. The new-build, 160-room hotel is located one block from beautiful Ponta Verde beach in Maceió, the capital of the coastal state Alagoas, in Northeast Brazil and one of the top tourist destinations in the country.
Boasting a modern architectural design, the Holiday Inn Express Maceio Ponta Verde’s interior is decorated with a collection of local artworks and folk-art inspired crafts from the area, blending the richness of Maceió’s cultural heritage with the hotel’s contemporary and fresh style. The property also features an array of amenities, including free high-speed wireless Internet connections throughout the hotel and four meeting rooms, totaling 1,614 square feet (150 square meters) and a 100-person capacity. Other amenities include an outdoor pool, fitness center and business center.
Situated between Mundaú Lake and the Atlantic Ocean, Maceió is surrounded by beaches and lagoons, lending itself to a number of aquatic activities, from diving and fishing to snorkeling and boat excursions. The property is close to several historic attractions, museums and restaurants. Among the city’s main attractions are the Theo Brandao Museum, the Craft Fair in Pajuçara and the EcoPark Water Maceió, one of the largest water parks in Alagoas. Also near the hotel is the Ruth Cardoso Convention Center.
