NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Swift Energy Company (NYSE:SFY) hit a new 52-week low Thursday as it is currently trading at $15.91, below its previous 52-week low of $15.97 with 678,146 shares traded as of 2:25 p.m. ET. Average volume has been 952,000 shares over the past 30 days.

Swift Energy has a market cap of $720.6 million and is part of the basic materials sector and energy industry. Shares are down 43.4% year to date as of the close of trading on Wednesday.

Swift Energy Company engages in acquiring, exploring, developing, and operating oil and natural gas properties. It focuses on oil and natural gas reserves in Texas, as well as onshore and in the inland waters of Louisiana.
