Yahoo! Partners with CNBC to Create Original Content: Hot Trends

Stock quotes in this article: YHOO

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Popular searches on the Internet include Yahoo! (YHOO) as the search engine has teamed up with CNBC to create original content to be featured on the Yahoo Finance page.

The partnership will create original financial news stories and video. A breaking news ticker and new material on stocks will be featured immediately. The companies will determine what types of content they'll produce based on search data and interests of advertisers. They will pay their own reporters and staff but share revenue.

Yahoo! already has a separate agreement with ABC News. CNBC is owned by NBCUniversal and airs shows including "Mad Money with Jim Cramer" and "Squawk on the Street."

Paula Deen is trending as the chef and TV personality is entering a partnership with Nanco Group to create a new company, Paula Deen Foods.

The new company will focus on Deen's products that are currently in stores at various retailers and expand upon them. The company will offer products containing Deen's traditional recipes as well as lighter versions.

Deen has come under fire by nutrition experts and other chefs for the high fat content in her recipes.

The company will be based in Savannah, Ga., and is expected to launch in the third quarter of 2012.

Saab is another popular search. The bankrupt automaker has found a buyer, according to the bankruptcy administrator.

Though the administrator did not name the buyer, media reports have named National Electric Vehicle Sweden as the buyer. A spokesman for NEVS confirmed that the company bid on Saab but has not revealed any other details.

The administrators said the buyer will be presented at a news conference later Wednesday.

Saab fell into bankruptcy at the end 2011. Administrators have been looking for a buyer since then.

The chatter on Main Street (a.k.a. Google, Yahoo! and other search sites) is always of interest to investors on Wall Street. Thus, each day, TheStreet compiles the stories that are trending on the Web, and highlights the news that could make stocks move.
