Ernst & Young Announces Renewable Energy Group Leaders As Winners For The Entrepreneur Of The Year 2012 Central Midwest Award

Ernst & Young LLP recently announced Ames, Iowa-based Renewable Energy Group’s Chairman, Jeff Stroburg and President & CEO, Daniel J. Oh, as winners of the Entrepreneur Of The Year ^® Award in the Central Midwest.

Renewable Energy Group ^® (REG ^®) leadership was among a select group of leading entrepreneurs selected by an independent judging panel made up of previous winners of the award, leading CEOs, private capital investors and other regional business leaders.

Winners were revealed at a special gala on June 5, 2012 in Kansas City, Kansas. During the ceremony, Stroburg and Oh recognized Renewable Energy Group’s employees for driving positive organizational results and attributed the company’s excellent status to their team.

Renewable Energy Group, with a deep history in value-added agriculture, was established as an independent energy company in 2006. Today, REG owns more than 210 million gallons of production capacity at six biorefineries and employs more than 275 people nationwide in all aspects of feedstock procurement, fuel conversion and biodiesel sales and marketing.

Stroburg and Oh also recognized and thanked the company’s shareholders during the ceremony; the firm went public via initial public offering in January 2012 and trades on NASDAQ under the symbol “REGI”.
