To help families, coaches and the community better understand these complex issues, Midwest Sports Productions and Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center are hosting a special free event,
"Strategies for Hope: Understanding Substance Abuse, Depression, Self-harm and Eating Disorders in Today's Youth."

. Speakers include
, PsyD, spirituality clinical coordinator and primary therapist at
, a motivational speaker, former professional baseball player and All-American at the
University of Oklahoma
, and author of
"Keepers of the Sandlot",
a book dedicated to parents, athletes and coaches. The book talks about life lessons based on Bill's experience at
every level of the game. Bill's second book, "The Sandlot Strategy," will be released this spring. Kirsten Haglund,
2008, eating disorders awareness advocate and community relations specialist at Timberline Knolls, will serve as the evening's emcee and panel discussion moderator.
The event is geared to parents, coaches and athletes, mental health professionals, church and community leaders, and anyone interested in the evening's topic matter.
