SPDR® ETFs Named Most Recognized Brand For Fifth Consecutive Year

State Street Global Advisors (SSgA),* the asset management business of State Street Corporation (NYSE: STT), today announced that SPDR ETFs were awarded the Most Recognized ETF Brand for the Americas for the fifth consecutive year at the 8th Annual Global ETF Awards Dinner held in New York on April 26, 2012.

SSgA is also proud to announce that Jim Ross, senior managing director and global head of SPDR Exchange Traded Funds, was honored with the inaugural Nate Most Greatest Contributor to the ETF Industry award.

“Nate Most was a brilliant innovator who led an astounding career,” Ross said. “To receive such a prestigious award in his name is an honor for which I’m very grateful.”

In addition to the awards above, SSgA received its fourth annual Most Informative ETF Website for the Americas award for SPDRs.com, which features data and research on exchange traded funds and the markets. The website also includes links to SPDR University ( www.spdru.com), a free online educational center designed to meet investment advisors’ demand for high-quality thought leadership and ETF Fact or Fiction ( www.etffactorfiction.com), a new website that provides individual investors with a comprehensive, trusted resource for ETF education.

SSgA and State Street also received awards for:

• Best Service Provider – Asia-Pacific Region: SSgA;
• Best Service Provider – Europe: State Street Fund Services (Ireland) Limited; and
• ETP that raised the most assets (in absolute growth) for the Americas: SPDR Gold Shares
