TeleCommunication Systems And Acacia Subsidiary Enter Into Patent Licensing Alliance

TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS), a world leader in highly reliable and secure mobile communication technology, and Acacia Research Corporation (NASDAQ: ACTG), a leader in patent licensing, today announced that TCS and a subsidiary of Acacia have entered into a patent licensing alliance, whereby the Acacia subsidiary is now the exclusive licensor of TCS’ inter-carrier messaging (ICM) patent portfolio.

TCS’ ICM technology enables subscribers to send messages to subscribers in other carrier networks by simply entering the recipient's phone number. This technology is currently used in TCS’ wireless Internet gateway and message data center product offerings.
