First-of-its-Kind Urban Homes: Using Less Water, Saving More Money
New Jersey American Water:
| WHAT: | New Jersey American Water and the Cramer Hill (Camden) Community Development Corp. (CHCDC) in Camden will break ground on the construction of “Nueva Vida III,” 12, single-family homes destined to be the first urban development of its kind in the nation to be labeled an EPA WaterSense community. | |
| Earlier this year, New Jersey American Water donated $750,000 to the Nueva Vida development through the NJ Department of Community Affairs (DCA) Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Program. A portion of the funding will be used to install WaterSense plumbing fixtures, washers and dryers, and smart water meters designed to help home owners conserve water, monitor water usage and save money on water bills. Also at the groundbreaking, a small community garden will be planted to mark the “new life” the housing construction represents for the future of Camden. | ||
