Chesapeake Utilities Corporation Welcomes Thomas E. Mahn As Director Of Finance

DOVER, Del., April 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Chesapeake Utilities Corporation (NYSE: CPK) announced today that Thomas E. Mahn has joined the Company as Director of Finance. Mr. Mahn will oversee all finance, treasury, risk management, and investor relations functions within the Company.  This includes providing leadership in the areas of corporate financial planning, retirement plan investment management, cash management, risk management compliance and counter party financial relations.  Mr. Mahn will oversee the preparation and execution of the Company's financing plans, including securing short-term and long-term capital as needed to support the Company's continued growth.  Mr. Mahn will report directly to Beth W. Cooper, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Mahn was Vice President and Treasurer for Perdue Incorporated, a privately held food and agribusiness company with $5.0 billion in annual domestic and international sales.  Perdue Incorporated is based in Salisbury, Maryland. At Perdue, he provided leadership in corporate finance, cash management, risk management and counter party and customer financial relations. In addition, he developed and administered corporate policies for risk management, commodity positions, strategic initiatives and employee benefit plans. Mr. Mahn held several positions in Finance during his 35 year career with Perdue including Treasurer, Manager of Banking and Finance, Corporate Credit Manager and Property Accounting Manager.

Since 1990, Mr. Mahn has also served as an Adjunct Faculty Member within the Finance department at Salisbury University in Salisbury, MD.  Mr. Mahn received his Masters of Business Administration from Salisbury University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration - Finance degree from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York. He and his wife, Claire, live in Salisbury, MD and have two daughters. Tom also served on the Board of Directors of Coast Hospice, Joseph House Village and the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore.
