'SHARK TANK' Investment Offers Now Total Over $2M As Entrepreneurs Receive $450K In Investment Offers During Last Week's Episode

CULVER CITY, Calif., March 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- During last Friday's episode of Sony Pictures Television's hit ABC reality series, SHARK TANK, Shark investors made offers for deals totaling $450,000.  Billionaire Mark Cuban offered $150,000 in exchange for 30% of Stephan Aarstol's unique sales distribution method for his stand-up paddle board company. Cuban also offered Aviv Grill, who was accompanied by indie-pop and singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson, $300,000 in exchange for 8% of his high-tech music software product.  The season-to-date total of investment offers from the Sharks, who use their own money to invest, is now over two million dollars .

SHARK TANK (1.7/6 in A18-49, 6.1M viewers) was the #1 ABC program for the night in households, total viewers and Adults 18-49.  The show matched its second highest ratings this season in Women 25-54, and won its timeslot among women, Adults 25-54, households and total viewers.

Entrepreneurs who were unable to convince the Sharks to part with their money included a couple from Oldsmar, FL, who learned the hard way that they had just one chance to convince the Sharks to invest in their instant solution for cellulite-free looking skin; and a wine server from Fort Collins, CO, who tried to convince the Sharks that his aerating device could revolutionize the way wine is sold.

Tune in to ABC on Friday, March 23 at 8 PM ET/PT when investors Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Kevin O'Leary, Robert Herjavec and Daymond John face a new round of entrepreneurs including a young, street-smart entrepreneur from Venice, CA, who wants the Sharks to invest in his clothing business that allows people to digitally put images on any garment, turning it into wearable art; a man from Englewood, CO, who brings his dog along to demonstrate how his pre-packaged meals for pets work; three ice cream makers from Old Lyme, CT, who don't have much money sense when pitching their beer-infused flavored ice cream; and it gets loud when two women from Los Angeles, CA, hope the Sharks will gear up to make a deal with their line of protective safety wear for motorcycle enthusiasts.  Additionally, the show follows-up with Randy & Darryl Lanz from Peachtree City, GA, to discuss the success they have had with their Ride On Carry On luggage attachment, which Barbara Corcoran invested in during season two.

About SHARK TANK

The Sharks are: billionaire Mark Cuban, owner and chairman of HDNet and outspoken owner of the 2011 NBA championship Dallas Mavericks; real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran; "Queen of QVC" Lori Greiner; technology innovator Robert Herjavec; fashion and branding expert Daymond John and venture capitalist Kevin O'Leary.  SHARK TANK airs Fridays at 8PM on ABC.

The panel of five Sharks hears pitches of the best business and product ideas from some of America's brightest entrepreneurs. When the Sharks hear a great idea, they're ready to fight each other for a piece of it. If and when the Sharks are confronted with a really top-notch idea, and more than one of them wants to sink their teeth into it, a war between them can erupt.
