Monster Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: MWW):
February 2012 Index Highlights:
- The Monster Employment Index Europe demonstrates a year-over-year growth of ten percent in February
- Germany continues to be the only country to exhibit strong growth of 28 percent. Italy and UK record relatively low year-over-year growth, while the Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium and France continue to exhibit annual declines
- Environment, architecture, urbanism and repair exhibits 19 percent annual growth and rises above Engineering to become the top growth industry in February
- Public sector, defense, community, down eight percent, tracks the largest annual decline in recruitment activity; other sectors to report annual rates of decline include Legal and Management and consulting
The Monster Employment Index Europe is a monthly gauge of online job posting activity based on a real-time review of millions of employer job opportunities culled from a large representative selection of career web sites and online job listings across Europe. The Index does not reflect the trend of any one advertiser or source, but is an aggregate measure of the change in job listings across the industry.
“Germany continues to remain an exceptional growth market, growing at 28 percent year-over-year, despite the ongoing macro-economic uncertainty in Europe,” commented Alan Townsend, Vice President of Sales Readiness and Business Operations for Monster Europe. “The sequential increase in the February Index is commensurate with the prior year and reflective of employers looking at their hiring plans after a month of assessing the 2012 outlook”.
