Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. Announces Redemption Of 8.375% Series C Preferred Stock

PASADENA, Calif, March 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. (NYSE: ARE) announced today that it will redeem all 5,185,500 of its outstanding shares of 8.375% Series C Cumulative Redeemable Preferred Stock (NYSE: ARE PrC) (CUSIP 015271406) on April 13, 2012.  The Series C Preferred Stock will be redeemed at a redemption price of $25.00 per share.  As previously announced, the $0.5234375 per share dividend on the Series C Preferred Stock for the first quarter of 2012 will be paid separately on April 13, 2012 to holders of record of the Series C Preferred Stock as of March 30, 2012.
