Fortune Brands Home & Security, Inc. (NYSE: FBHS), an industry-leading home and security products company, today announced that it has been named to FORTUNE magazine’s 2012 List of World’s Most Admired Companies. The company ranked No. 3 in the “Home Equipment, Furnishings” category, ahead of its direct competitors.
“We are proud of this ranking, which is a reflection of our 16,000 associates around the world who do great work every day on behalf of our shareholders, customers and consumers,” said Chris Klein, chief executive officer, Fortune Brands Home & Security, Inc. “It is especially gratifying to receive this honor after only five months as an independent company. We believe we are well-positioned to remain successful regardless of the pace of the housing recovery, with efficient supply chains, a strong capital structure and a clear strategy,” Klein said.
FBHS spun off from Fortune Brands, Inc. in October 2011.
FORTUNE's World's Most Admired Companies list is the definitive report card on corporate reputations. Hay Group, a global management consulting firm, has collaborated with FORTUNE annually since 1997 to identify, select and rank the World’s Most Admired Companies and uncover the business practices that make these companies highly regarded among their peers. The list is based on an annual survey given to top executives, directors and financial analysts to identify the companies that enjoy the strongest reputations within their industries and across industries. To compile the rankings, corporate reputation and performance are measured against nine key attributes: innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment, quality of products and services, and global competitiveness.Among those attributes, FBHS ranked No. 1 in its industry in “Use of Corporate Assets” and No. 2 in “Quality of Management” and “Financial Soundness.” The full World’s Most Admired Companies list can be found on the FORTUNE magazine website at www.fortune.com.
