AvalonBay Communities Announces 2012 Annual Meeting Details
AvalonBay Communities, Inc. (NYSE: AVB) announced today that the 2012 Annual Meeting of Stockholders will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 9:00 A.M. Eastern Time. Stockholders of record of the Company's Common Stock as of the close of business on March 9, 2012 are entitled to vote at the Annual Meeting. The meeting will be held in the Company’s offices at Ballston Tower, 671 N. Glebe Road, Arlington, VA 22203, 8 th Floor.

As of December 31, 2011, the Company owned or held a direct or indirect ownership interest in 200 apartment communities containing 58,538 apartment homes in ten states and the District of Columbia, of which 19 communities were under construction and 13 communities were under reconstruction.
