The new 156 sq ft Selfridges Manchester Exchange location is American Apparel's second-such store in Manchester.

"Exchange Square is one of the major shopping areas in the United Kingdom--its typical customer is interested in fashionable high-end garments, which fits well with our approach to fashionable basics. We're excited to have a new presence there," said Marsha Brady, a creative director for American Apparel.

The new Manchester shop-in-shop will be the first location opened by American Apparel this year. Previously the company's most recent British store was opened in December 2011 at Westfield London.

"Our collaborations with Selfridges have been a great avenue of expansion for American Apparel and their customers have shown a great affinity for our brand. We're looking forward to exploring new locations like this across the UK and wherever else the opportunities arise," Brady said.
