Dickey's Barbecue Pit Reopens After Devastating Fire
FLOWER MOUND, Texas, Feb. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- After a devastating fire, Dickey's Barbecue Pit has re-opened in Flower Mound.
"The fire was emotionally devastating for me and my family. I didn't think I was going to be able to recover," said Mo Afzal, the owner of this location and four other Dickey's locations. The fire broke out on an early Tuesday morning in September. The fire destroyed the kitchen and the dining room had major smoke damage. Fire crews from Lewisville and Highland Village assisted Flower Mound Fire Department with the blaze. According to Afzal, the fire was started by an electrical short in the ice machine. No one was injured in this fire. "The support and love from our community was phenomenal. I have the deepest respect for the city of Flower Mound, our local chamber of commerce, our local churches and our customers. Everyone wanted to show support and help us through this horrific event," said Afzal. "I couldn't have gotten through this without all their help." This store is now open and serving authentic barbecue. It is located at 3320 Long Prairie Road. The store phone number is 972-691-0197. Dickey's is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. "We are all so happy that this location is open again. The Flower Mound community really showed their support during this whole process and I am truly grateful for that," said Roland Dickey, Jr., president of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc.
