Great Place To Work® Celebrates Strong Workplace Cultures Through The "We Heart Our Workplace" Video Contest
SAN FRANCISCO,
Feb. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Great Place to Work®, the researchers behind the FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For® list, invites companies to submit short videos that demonstrate
outstanding workplace cultures. Any US-based company with 25 or more employees is eligible to participate in the
"We Heart Our Workplace" Video Contest.
The Grand Prize, a
$5,000 donation to the winning company's charity of choice, furnished by Sofitel, celebrates the growing role that
corporate philanthropy and community involvement initiatives play in
employee engagement and strong company cultures.
As the researchers behind the FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For® list, Great Place to Work® monitors workplace trends. While community involvement and corporate philanthropy has always been strong among the 100 Best, initiatives have grown as employers recognize the importance of these initiatives to millennials, and those who seek workplaces with mission-based cultures and commitment to corporate social responsibility. In 2011, the 100 Best donated
$37.6 million to charitable causes. 57 of the 100 Best matched employee-made donations, while 33 of the 100 Best offered paid time off to employees to volunteer.
CEO of Great Place to Work®,
Susan Lucas-Conwell, says: "We are thrilled to partner with Sofitel to offer this Grand Prize. It feels really good to be supporting the wonderful ways companies give back to their communities."
Videos from the ten finalists will be featured at the
2012 Great Place to Work® Conference,
March 28-29, in
Atlanta, GA. The Grand Prize winner will be selected by the Conference audience through live, text-based voting. "Only one hundred companies get to be featured on the FORTUNE list, but we believe there are many other great workplaces out there. The "We Heart Our Employees" video contest invites any company with happy employees to show off a little and be recognized by their peers. We hope to unearth a lot of great workplaces through this process," said Lucas-Conwell.
The "We Heart Our Workplace" Video Contest runs through
March 2nd, 2012. Those interested in participating can upload their submissions
online.
