Your Vote Can Help Cancer Support Community Win 50K

REDONDO BEACH, Calif., Feb. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Cancer Support Community-Redondo Beach (CSC-RB), a local nonprofit offering free support programs to cancer patients and their families is requesting the public's votes for an opportunity to win a $50,000 grant as part of the Lester and Sue Smith Foundation's Pink Well Challenge. Spearheaded by Texas oilman, philanthropist and cancer survivor Lester H. Smith, the Pink Well Challenge is a national fundraising campaign awarding $1 million in grants to organizations engaged in breast cancer research, prevention, treatment and patient support.

CSC-RB is one of 30 finalists chosen from applicants throughout the country and is the only nonprofit selected from California. As part of the challenge, CSC-RB has created a short video about the organization that appears on www.Pinkwell.org. The organization that receives the most votes will receive $50,000. Voters may cast their votes each day using Facebook, Twitter and valid email addresses. "This marks our 25th year of serving cancer patients and their loved ones free of charge—these funds will be a vital catalyst for our ongoing mission. Please support us by voting for our amazing video," said Judith Opdahl, CSC-RB Executive Director.
