Romney Wins Nevada Caucuses

LAS VEGAS (TheStreet) -- Mitt Romney won the Nevada caucuses by a wide margin, adding to his momentum in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.

It was a second straight overwhelming win for the former Massachusetts governor, coming only days after his victory in the Florida primary.

His chief rival, Newt Gingrich, is far from conceding the race, however.

In fact, the former House speaker vowed to keep fighting all the way until the Republican convention in Tampa, Fla., the Associated Press reported.

Gingrich said he aimed to "find a series of victories which by the end of the Texas primary will leave us at parity" with Romney by early April, the AP said.

With votes from 71% of the precinct caucuses counted, Romney had 48%, while Gingrich had 23%, Rep. Ron Paul of Texas had 19% and former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania had 11%, according to the AP.

The focus of the race now shifts to Colorado and Minnesota, which hold their caucuses on Tuesday.
