Staples, Inc. (Nasdaq: SPLS), the world’s largest office products company and a trusted source for office solutions, today announced the appointment of Mike Edwards to executive vice president, U.S. Retail merchandising. Edwards will report to Demos Parneros, president of U.S. Retail for Staples.

Edwards previously served as president and Chief Executive Officer of Borders Group, Inc. and had also served as the company’s chief merchant. Prior to Borders, he was president and Chief Executive Officer of Lucy Activewear. Previously, Edwards served senior leadership roles at Jo-Ann Stores and West Marine. Edwards graduated from Drexel University with a bachelor of science in business administration.
