About the contestants:
From a very early age, Jessica has always had a passion for singing and songwriting. While she has aspired to be a country star, she also loved the idea of becoming a wife and mother. After marrying an entrepreneurial sporting scout at the young age of 18, it seemed as though Jessica was destined to be a mom…until she was discovered by a
-based music producer while singing in church. Four children later, Jessica is back on track to become a country music star and is excited to see how these two worlds will collide.

Unlike many aspiring stars, Laura performs in clothes that she makes herself. She also acts to fund her musical career, appearing as an extra in
and The Deathly Hallows (Part 2), '
: A Game of Shadows' and the British comedy series Down Town Abbey. Laura began writing her own songs after discovering her talent as a backup singer in a school play. She raised money to record a professional single in hopes of becoming a star, only to find out that no radio show would play or promote a single from an artist without the backing of a major label. Undaunted, Laura hopes to get as many people as possible to hear her music, because she truly believes she has a message of hope, inspiration, and following one's dreams and passions.
Justin has felt nothing but support from his family and friends in pursuing a music career. Attending the prestigious
Berklee College of Music
, he arranged his college schedule so that he could play local gigs to help pay for school. After graduation, Justin moved to
, where he earned a living as the human jukebox in a dueling piano bar, which also covered the cost of producing his own album. Now the time has come for Justin to give up local gigs and focus on touring, playing shows, and seeking representation so he can make it big.
