AKRON, Ohio, Dec. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Residential electric customers of Penn Power still have time to sign up with FirstEnergy Solutions to receive the lowest price on electric generation currently available.  By enrolling now, residents can lock in a fixed price of 6.60 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) on electric generation through December 2013.  This is a 12 percent savings over Penn Power's current average residential rate of 7.48 cents per kWh.

Residents who choose FirstEnergy Solutions as their electric generation supplier will continue to receive one bill and the same level of service from Penn Power, and the utility will continue to deliver the electricity, maintain the poles and wires, and respond to power outages.

Residents interested in learning more about the FirstEnergy Solutions offer should contact the company at 1-866-430-4410 or visit www.fessave.com/easy. Discounts and savings for small commercial and industrial businesses are also available by visiting www.fes.com
