The Manitowoc Company Releases Its Second Annual Sustainability And Corporate Responsibility Report

The Manitowoc Company, Inc. (NYSE: MTW) announced the release of its second annual Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility Report. The report covers the sustainable practices and corporate responsibility efforts in four different areas: facilities, products, workforce, and business practices.

Manitowoc’s sustainability leadership team, comprised of employees from the company’s Foodservice and Cranes divisions, collaborated to gather data from nearly 40 manufacturing facilities throughout 2011. The team measured and monitored areas such as resource conservation, pollution prevention, product and supply chain impacts, labor practices, safety, and community involvement.

Tim Reis, global director of environmental health and safety for The Manitowoc Company commented: ”As companies throughout the supply chain have become more focused on sustainability, quantifying this practice has become a top priority. Manitowoc’s products have always been designed and manufactured with sustainability in mind. Whether it is a crane that has a life cycle of over 30 years or an energy-efficient oven that conserves both money and resources, this report helps quantify those practices so our customers and supply chain partners are fully aware of our ongoing commitment in this area.”
